Cindy Black

Body Edge Fitness Owner/Personal Trainer Cindy Black was an athlete growing up, playing soccer, basketball, and softball in Western New York. She began personal training in Wilmington, NC in 1996 with national certification from AFAA (Aerobics & Fitness Association of America). Cindy completed her four-year degree at UNC Wilmington in Physical Education with an emphasis on Exercise Science in 1997 intending to pursue her lifelong passion for fitness.

She opened Body Edge in Sunset Beach in 2003 then in 2008, the gym expanded into its current Ocean Isle Beach location and added group exercise classes. The gym continues to grow and expand with additional equipment, services offered and amazing clients.

Cindy has been creating individually designed training workouts based on the needs of her clients for 29 years. Client goals are set and met through dedication, determination, and desire. Her workouts are challenging and fun. She specializes in functional training for all ages, offers golf-specific training and coordinated rehab with area doctors. Functional training incorporates body weight exercises and may include TRX, Kettlebells, Ropes, Bosu, Swiss medicine balls, free weights, Jacob’s Ladder, and yoga – all to improve body conditioning from the core out!

Personal training is an additional amenity available to members, non-members and tourists alike. Contact Cindy at 910-471-4500 to schedule a personal consult and training.

Linda Morgan
Linda joined Body Edge after moving to Sunset Beach from Charlotte, NC. Her hobbies include bike riding, kayaking, paddle boarding, and walks on the beach. After a successful career in corporate sales, she followed her fitness passion and became a Personal Trainer as well as a Health & Wellness Coach at the YMCA of Greater Charlotte. She has her certification through ACE (American Council on Exercise) and has formal training in biomechanical imbalances and corrective methods.

Her expertise is in the areas of strengthening, toning, flexibility, and balance. Workouts focus on functional training with emphasis on core and correct form. Her strength is helping clients identify imbalances/weak areas, then building strength in those areas for success in their favorite activities and daily living.

Linda believes workouts should be designed for clients to be challenged while still having fun and relieving stress. She utilizes creativity to make sure the brain is engaged for all around improved health.

Tina Swart
Tina is originally from Ohio and moved to Charlotte, NC for more sunshine.
About six years ago she and her husband moved to Ocean Isle Beach, NC and are
loving it here.
Tina grew up playing sports; volleyball, softball and running track.
Nutrition and fitness have always been very important to her, which is the reason
she graduated with a B.S in Food Science from the University of Akron. Tina then
received her ACE (American Council on Exercise) personal training certification
and then earned a Senior Specialization Certification. Tina loves to meet clients and discuss their current fitness level in order to work with them on reaching their individual goals. She specializes in creating sustainable, realistic workouts that focus on strength, core, and mobility. Tina believes in positive support to motivate her clients throughout each workout.

Christian Sisneros
Christian moved to Ocean Isle Beach from Colorado in 2022 to enjoy the peaceful beach and to escape from the financial field. Growing up playing multiple sports and participating in athletics, the fitness industry was naturally an excellent fit. In May of 2024, Christian obtained his Personal Training Certification through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) to pursue his fitness passion and to help others reach and maximize their fitness goals and potential.

Christian believes staying active and participating in fitness activities is essential to everyone on a physical and also mental level. Not only does he view the gym as a place to improve physical appearance and mobility, Christian treats the gym as a option to relieve stress and improve mental health. Sculpting the body is important but the shaping of the mind is just as critical.

As a Personal Trainer, Christian’s top priority is for clients to stay safe and also have fun while challenging themselves in the gym setting. Building and maintaining muscle is prudent. Overcoming potential barriers and resolving ambivalence is also essential. After learning and being around phenomenal coaches and leaders as an athlete, Christian wants to share those same values and lessons as a trainer to others. Outside of fitness, Christian is passionate about photography, reading, playing tennis and pickleball.
